Celebrate with a GIVEAWAY!

It's my birthday and I'm celebrating with a giveaway!
Saturday my friend Meg introduced all of us to French Bull.
Oh my!
I sat drooling at all the fun color.
I ordered myself these salad servers.
One for me . . . . one for YOU! (if you win!)
It's always more fun to share the love!

Aren't these patterns so fun??
Someone invite me over and ask me to bring a salad.
I just might have to order this tray too.

To win you just need to leave a comment today, any comment - now I sound lame asking you all to wish me a happy birthday :)) - Don't say happy birthday. -  Instead tell me your favorite type of salad; or better yet give me the recipe or link me to it.
The winner will be announced on FRIDAY morning!

Happy Day to all of you!

Ohhh, I love birthdays! My favorite salad is the Mary Walker -- we call it that, b/c she's who first introduced us to it. It's spring mix, craisins, feta or goat cheese, (canned) mandarin oranges, chopped walnuts and poppyseed dressing. Totally delicious, and perfect w/ tongs that colorful!

I was actually coming on to ask you a random question.. for your chicken crescents == how do you cook it/what do you do to get the chicken shredded? I was going to make it for dinner, but.. I'm not sure how to do it. Could I just chunk it, or will that make it too lumpy for the roll?

Thank you.. and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Enjoy the day!

Loved this website and all their fun stuff! My favorite salad is one we always had at Thanksgiving when I was a kid...strawberry jello sald, with the layer of sour cream in the middle. Love it!

Have a fun day!

Happy Birthday, Nicole! I love Greek Salad which includes Romaine lettuce or spinach, olives, pickled peppers, Feta cheese, pine nuts and whatever else I forgot. The dressing is olive oil, garlic, lemon juice (fresh),parsley, and salt.
I decided that I want a campfire for my next birthday!!! Somebody can shovel the snow and we'll sit/huddle around the fire and have hotdogs and marshmellows... in FEBRUARY!!! If it goes well, we can recommend it for Jason! LOL!

My favorite salad is taco salad. To ordinary to give you a recipe (if you'd even need one!) so instead I dug out the boys favorite!! Since you have a house full of boys, too, thot they might like it as much as Adam and Connor!!!

SNICKER SALAD
1 large box vanilla pudding (dry)
16 oz. cool whip
10 snicker bars
3-4 apples (green work best, not so sweet)

Mix the dry pudding and cool whip. Cut up the apples and snickers and add to the pudding/cool whip. Chill and serve!!

(The boys secret is to double the snickers and halve the apples!!!)

Happy Birthday!!!

Those tongs are fabulous!

My current favorite salad is called Shop Salad and we had it when we were visiting some friends overseas.
Super simple and made to taste:
Chop: tomatoes, cucumbers(peeled and seeded), a little red onion and drizzle with olive oil and vinegar. If you want to fancy it up you can add some feta cheese.

Saw those spoons a while back and ALMOST ordered them! Love that site! Here's a Chicken Salad recipe... only b/c I just made it for lunch about an hour ago. It's better if it sets up for a little bit! AND...this time I made it from 2 fried chicken breasts! Just stop by your local jiffy trip and pick up a couple! Can't get any easier than that!!

*Garlic Chicken Salad*
boiled chicken breasts....add garlic and salt when you boil it
chopped onions
dill relish or chopped dill pickles
*add a little dill pickle juice if you think it needs it
garlic (as much as you want!)
real mayo (NOT Miracle Whip!) I use Kraft Mayo!
mustard (not too much)
salt
cracked black pepper
Don't have exact measurements but...it's great everytime!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY too....

Maybe i should look for all those recipes i brought back! It's super yummy and sweet and goes wonderfully with just about any meal, but I think my favorite was having it with the fresh crab right out of the ocean that day! oh those were wonderful meals!

My favorite salad in the world is a normal lettuce salad with carrots, green peppers, onions, tomatoes and either chicken or turkey. You can add as many vegetables as you like. Also, topping the whole thing off with a Catalina Dressing.

Hope you are having a great great day. and HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Tara - Those chicken crescents are so yummy! To answer your question I cook my chicken in the crockpot so it is so tender that they you just take a fork and shred it up easily. Usually I do a whole crock pot of chicken and divide the shredded chicken into a couple containers and freeze them so the shredded chicken is ready for several different recipes. You could use can chicken too or just bake chicken and dice it up in small chuncks - that would work great too. hope that helps. Enjoy!!! I don't have an email for you so I hope you get this message.

My favorite salad: just a plain old garden salad, with Ranch of course!

I love your blog, Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday a day late! I'm a sucker for a good green salad with tomatoes, cucumbers and avocado and a tad of ranch dressing. But one of my all time favorites is my mom's fruit salad...use some canned fruit like peaches, fruit cocktail, mandarin oranges, apricots and fresh apples, grapes, bananas, strawberries (all cut up)...drain all canned fruit well (overnight in fridge is best) and then mix all together in a big bowl...in separate bowl make whipped cream...heavy cream, powdered sugar and vanilla (to taste) and whip til very stiff peaks form and then stir it into the fruit and then try not to eat the whole bowl yourself! :)
