Ten on Ten: Feb 2012

Ten on Ten (POSTED ON THE 11th)
Take a photo every hour for ten consecutive hours on the tenth of each month.
Document a day of your life and find beauty among the ordinary moments.

(stepped outside to snap a picture of the moon still up)

(while out there I took a picture looking in at my little nook)

(lounging in the morning hours)

(I had a day full of preschool work to do so my girl and her friend played all day in the room while I worked; by 10:15 they decided it was time for lunch.)

(Pretty much where I sat from 9:30-3:30 working away on future plans.)

(Who doesn't love Valentine's cards? Every year I say I'm going to make some really creative ones with the kids but I never do. They love the cheapo character cards so we go with that.)

(After school snack . . . carmel and apples.)

(Getting the girl ready for dancing at half time with her class.)

(rehearsing before the game : she's second from the right)

(half time show - she's the first one on the right )

That's the day!

Ten on Ten: January 2012

Ten on Ten:

I haven't done a ten on ten in forever . . . this is really my ten on ten posted on the eleventh.
I took all but one of my pics in the same hour - rules smules - whatever - it was just fun to pick up my camera again - my new camera at that!!!

We had a BEAUTIFUL day here.
Strange for January in Nebraska.
(Today, the 11th, is FRIGID and WINDY.)
So yesterday the kids and I headed to the park.
Boys were armed with Nerf Guns and the girl was all about looking at my camera.
I wanted to post more than 10 but narrowed it to 10.

Not happy with a part of the game?
Whine - why not.
I caught the "whine face" on camera.
I now have proof to show the boys when they are older.
LIterally 3 seconds later the face is gone and whatever was such a big deal is now over.
Totally have to love that about boys.

Our drive home.

My view while making dinner.
The reflection in my mirror above the sink.
Be still my heart.
This is why I love the lense - helps me see the daily in my crazy.
Some day I'll cook dinner alone for two.
The house will be quiet and I won't nag people to help with tasks or just get along while I cook.
I want to remember these days.

I love the sunshine lines on the carpet in the morning.
Makes me want to lay down and bask in the light.
Toys were actually off the floor so I decided to quick vacuum.

Time to workout . . . if you live in the area Jazzercise classes are FREE every Friday in March.
Go try it out.

Listening to these two makes me smile big.
Two cousins who are best friends.
They remind me of the days of my twins at this age . . . talking away.
We met some of my favorite girls for lunch (Grandma and my sister in laws) - forgot to snap a shot.

So so close to finalizing baby number fours baby book --- just need to journal some.
She's 4 1/2 now - not bad right??

A little competition.

Jas saved the evening -- he's my hero.
I had the blues by the end of the day so he offered to make dinner.
I headed out for a walk and he made
his moms amazing waffles for dinner.
I don't think I've ever made waffles - weird.

We ended the day outside - together - talking - all of us - covered a million topics.
We have four thinkers.
The questions make my head hurt but I hope they keep asking 'em.
Questions bring growth.
I guess we have six thinkers in the house now that I think about it.

I cheated this month. My pics aren't every hour on the hour.
Just ten pics of the day.
Some closer than an hour; some with many hours in between.
That's just how it worked today.

(This is me after I've said "I love you; have a good day at school" to all three boys and watched them climb the big yellow limo. Then I walk back into my kitchen and think . . . now what? Where should I start today?)

Tatum started with Squeekies.

Today the girl and I were very tired. I cuddled up with my princess and we slept for a couple hours on the couch. Notice the big lip? She took a spill on the bleachers at a basketball game and bit her lip.  Lots of blood but she's ok. Just looks terrible. The tooth came from the inside and cut almost through.

Coloring or drawing happens daily at our place. I dream of a art room off of my kitchen.

The unending nightmare in my life.

I super glued a pig today. All better now.

Two awesome valentines made it home from school to me today!

This tired mom called for a Subway night. No motivation to cook. There was an older lady there who came up and said some super sweet things to us about our family.  Thank you sweet older lady. I hope I remember to do that when I'm older.  It's nice to give someone some pleasant entertainment for a change instead of just a wild show.

The day ended with the filling out of V-Day cards. Signed, sealed, and ready to be delivered!

Not super exciting but it was our day!

No frills kind of day.

Morning Breakfast - One kid making a silly face at his crazy mom taking a picture of the oh so exciting bowl of cereal.  Yes that is healthy Fruity Pebbles I'm feeding my child.  Only the best for my kid. :))

Two boys that look like they are in a real hurry for the bus that just pulled up for them. They were content to watch their brother make his last basketball shot instead of acknowledge that the bus just pulled up.

Time for exercise . . . my sidekick girl and I started our morning with Jazzercise.
Here's a plug for Jazzercise . . .they are offering $50 for unlimited classes for the rest of 2010 with no joining fee. I don't know if that's just the center I go to or nationally.

Few minutes checking emails/blogs/etc.

Sidekick girl was in for a treat . . . ..lunch while watching a show! She was more than thrilled.

This is where I spent 5 or more hours today.
It was a task oriented day.
I was pouring over details for an upcoming event.
If you live in the area here's a SAVE THE DATE for you:

SAVE THE DATE
Loving Well Community Women's Retreat
January 28-29, 2011 - Lied Lodge - Nebraska City
(Beth Moore DVD Series)
Watch for details coming soon!
You won't want to miss it, it's gonna be awesome!

Everyone is happy to have a friend over after school.

My hair stylist fixed my hair.
I told her it hurt and she said, "That's how I have to do it."
Oh.

Go Fish with Carter.
He won.

Driving to church tonight.
Not sure I'm ok with this sun going down earlier thing but we'll find a new rhythm eventually.

That's my no frills day!
Goodnight.
